The Tamron Aspherical LD XR Di II refers to a series of compact, lightweight lenses designed specifically for APS-C DSLR cameras XR (Extra Refractive Index) Glass: Bends light rays at steeper angles, shortening the physical length of the lens while enhancing image quality. Di II (Digitally Integrated): Engineered exclusively for digital SLRs with smaller APS-C sensors; not compatible with full-frame cameras. LD (Low Dispersion): Glass used to reduce chromatic aberrations, improving sharpness and contrast. Aspherical Elements: Used to correct spherical aberrations to produce a more compact, lightweight lens design.[IF] (Internal Focusing): Focuses internally, meaning the front element does not rotate or extend
