Item Description
Nicknamed the Baby Tuna, this Seiko Prospex Diver watch is designed specifically as an essential piece of dive equipment. Powering the watch is the 4R36 movement, Seiko's evolution of a long history of famed automatic movements, including the 7S26, 4R15 and 4R16 movements. Hailed for their accuracy and reliability, they feature 24 jewels, hack winding capability, 50-hour power reserve, and the 5 basic functions that were the hallmarks of Seiko '5', namely seconds, minutes, hours, day and date. The movement displays its information on a black dial with large luminous indexes, day and date aligned at 3 o'clock, and the time is displayed with large luminous hands. In low light conditions underwater, all 3 hands are visible to allow split second timing, and easy orientation with a specifically shaped 12 o'clock marker. Around this is the unidirectional rotating bezel, protected by the 'Tuna Can' design to stop the bezel being accidentally moved while being used, while still remaining easy to access by the user even when using gloves and underwater. The bezel also has a highly luminous marker at 12 to allow time elapsed to be accurately measured underwater. The case is solid stainless steel, with screw down crown at 4 o'clock position and screw down case back to ensure the case maintains its water resistance, allowing it to be rated as a Diver's 200M watch. The watch fastens on a black rubber strap, designed to fit around a wetsuit, with expansion sections at the case junction.
