When you connect both Joy-Cons with the Joy-Con grip, you can use them like a traditional controller. Without the grip, both can be used independently as two separate controllers. The Joy-Cons can each be used vertically or horizontally for gaming, and it's also possible to play with one Joy-Con in each hand. Imagine the Joy-Con as a glass filled with ice cubes. Thanks to the HD rumble, you can feel the ice cubes moving in the glass as you move the Joy-Con. The infrared motion camera of the Joy-Con detects shapes, movements, and the distance of objects that the camera sees. For example, it can recognize whether a hand is showing scissors, rock, or paper. With this new feature, there are now more input methods available than ever before.
